Is your dog a “Good Citizen”? You can find out by taking the test! The Canine Good Citizen test developed by the American Kennel Club, tests 10 items that indicate your dog is a polite in public. Those items are:
accepting a friendly stranger- sitting politely for petting
- appearance and grooming
- walking on a loose leash
- walking through a crowd
- sit AND down stay
- coming when called
- reaction to another dog
- reaction to a distraction
- supervised separation
There are two therapy dog registries: TDI and Pet Partners.
